ORIBANI
RED PACKET 2023
Celebrate the New Year with new goals.
USHER IN THE
'YEAR OF THE RABBIT'
WITH AN ORIGAMI BUNNY!
Founded in 2014, MAAD Creatives once again makes several pieces of its creation available to the public. This year, we have added a craft element to our red packets with a touch of personalisation.
'YEAR OF THE RAT' MEETS JAPANESE TRADITION, SINGAPORE STYLE.
Combining Chinese culture with the Japanese traditional Daruma, we've localised our red packet without the HUATs and LAHs, featuring Singapore (and some say Japan's) favourite mystical animal – the Merlion.
We've also given the conventional red packet a secondary purpose – providing recipients with a MAADARUMA to set their 2020 goals.
Found on the inside of the flap is a set of eye stickers to help you set your goal using the MAADARUMA.
WHAT'S A MAADARUMA
AND HOW TO USE IT?
A Daruma is a Japanese doll that symbolises perseverance and good luck, customarily used as a gift of encouragement.
Traditionally, the recipient paints one eye upon setting a goal, then the other upon attaining it.
MAADARUMA fulfils the same function, but instead of paint, stickers are used.
MATT GOLD HOTSTAMP
YEAR OF THE METAL RAT
2020 is the Year of the Metal Rat and our cover symbolises it with a Rat Daruma that features robot-like eyes.
Slowly bring it to life as you set and complete your goal.
Don't cheat! There are 2 mystical merlions watching your every move.
CUSTOMISED ILLUSTRATIONS
BRONZE GLAMOUR
We couldn't help but add a touch of class to the overall design. The use of bronze adds vintage charm and glamour – perfect for contrasting the cute, contemporary illustration on the cover.
